Claude Courtil – Clos des Brusquières

The vineyard with a total surface of 10 hectares has been lead by Claude Courtil since 1969 and is mostly situated in the north of the village, 500 metres from the renowned castle in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The soil, covered in pebbles,  is rich in clay, limestones and sandy marl, also knows as ‘les brusquières’.

The vines have an average of 50 years and they boast the 13 grape varieties of the appelation; 75% grenache, 20% syrah-mourvèdre and 5% other varieties.

The winery and the vineyard are managed by Claude, his wife and his sons David and Jérôme.
